The ultimate in SSL certification. Your clients browser bar turns green showcasing your validated company and strength.
What is the difference between Domain Validated (DV), Organization Validation (OV) and Extended Validation (EV)?
Domain validation is the simplest and quickest way to get an SSL certificate for your website. This type of SSL certificate allows for secure (https) transaction over the internet. This type of certificate does not validate the company itself but only provides a secure connection. This is the most common SSL.
Organization validation takes the SSL certificate one step further with not only providing the secure (https) connection, but extra steps are taking by the issuer of the certificate by validating the identity of the company, domain name ownership and displays the company information in the browser.
Extended validation not only validates domain name
ownership, provides a secure connection via (https) with Green Bar Support; it also provides a
thorough investigation of the company. Some of the items that are
verified are the following:
- Verifying the legal, physical and operational existence of the entity
- Verifying that the identity of the entity matches official records
- Verifying that the entity has exclusive right to use the domain specified in the EV SSL Certificate
- Verifying that the entity has properly authorized the issuance of the EV SSL Certificate
Note: An SSL Certificate install requires an IP address change. Your computer might show the site as down during the propagation process as it will be remembering the old IP address. Please keep in mind that this will go away in a few hours and will affect anyone who has been to it before. Please contact our SSL Certificate support center for instructions on how to manually cause Windows to refresh its internal cache of DNS entries if you would like to try to speed that up.
Note: When purchasing an SSL Certificate, the address, email and organization information you provide when purchasing needs to match EXACTLY your WHOIS information for the domain for which you would like the SSL installed on. If the information is not correct, you must login to your domain registrar, edit the information and save first, then purchase your SSL certificate. It may take 24-48 hours for your whois information to propagate once you have updated at your registrar.
